Dolce and Gabbana show us all how its done

Dolce and Gabbana know what they're doing. For FW 2010 they opened with a video of Stefano and Deminico behind the scenes, sketching their famed dresses and personally hand tailoring jackets on a model. Its a personal effect that is new for the duo, and you can't help but feel a sense of intimacy when youre watching it. You feel like youre part of the process. Its a peak into the backstage goings on of the designers who's collection, named for their famous surnames, is as well known as any.
The clothes were pretty simple, yet perfect in tailoring. There were lots of jackets, trousers, a few dresses, and  some classic lingerie. Its all so understated, yet maintains sex appeal and stregnth. They did incorporate the usual lace and animal print they're known for, but thats all part of the lady. And I loved that they paired the tweed lady suits with headphones and mp3 players just to bring her into the 21st century.

These are clothes made for women by men who love women. They never sway from who they are but they manage to transform like a butterfly with every new season. They are ever changing, yet their idea of who a woman is and how she wants to feel, that always stays. And its this that inspires their designs, and you can tell, because even when she is in a blazer with knickers, you can still feel her stregnth, her resolve.

Gabbana's woman doesn't have her head in the clouds. She is beautiful, she is strong, and she know where she's going, and thats why this label has been such a mainstay. They stick to what a woman wants, above all trends, above all else. A Dolce and Gabbana woman is reminiscent of a young Sophia Lauren, with the gusto of Madonna, and the feminine wiles of Marylin Monroe. Its no wonder these are the ladies the duo has modeled their creations after. All combined she's a modern day Wonder woman, and what woman can't relate to that?
